From Boxing Day 2009 through to April 26, 2010, Frankston Waterfront will once again be transformed as 3,500 tonnes of sand is carved into spectacular sculptures depicting people, places and events that have shaped our world.
This year our team of creative and extremely talented artists from Australia and countries all over the world will recreate those moments from our past that stand out as remarkable and have impacted on changed the course of history, from caveman discovering how to create fire to man walking on the moon.
These sculptures will amaze and delight visitors of all ages with their attention to detail as well as their sheer size.
Please note that this event is family oriented and child friendly, therefore it is a smoke free venue and alcohol is not permitted. Likewise, dogs are not permitted within the exhibition (guide dogs, hearing guide dogs and guide dogs in training excepted).

Getting There
- From Melbourne CBD via Nepean Highway
- From Portsea/Sorrento via Point Nepean Road
- From eastern suburbs via Eastlink (tolls apply)
Parking
Throughout the city of Frankston, free 2-hour parking is available on most streets. There are also paid parking areas available, both with and without time limits. Please check signs carefully when parking to avoid any violation of local by-laws.
Limited parking is available near the event site.
Public Transport
Rail
Connex Melbourne operates an electrified rail service from Melbourne CBD to Frankston. The journey takes approximately one hour.
Connex also operates a diesel service to Frankston from Stony Point, with stations at Crib Point, Bittern, Tyabb, Hastings and Somerville.
