With MPRG Curator, Danny Lacy.

Program:

2pm - Cameron Robbins

Cameron’s work in the 2018 National Works on Paper was made during his stay at the Gatekeeper’s Cottage, artist in residence at Police Point Shire Park. The wind machine responds to wind speed, wind direction, rain and sun and translates the elements into an abstract form of ink drawings on paper. See what happens when Cameron sets up the wind machine at the Gallery.

2.30pm - Rosie Weiss

Well-known Peninsula artist Rosie Weiss examines the relationship we share with the natural world. She finds eroded plant fragments teetering on the edge of human activity. Over time Rosie has documented dramatic changes to the shape and structure of the coastline in Port Phillip Bay, eroding some parts and plants beyond recognition.

3pm - Kylie Stillman

Best known for her book sculptures and woodcarvings, local artist Kylie Stillman uses scalpel blades, jigsaws, sewing materials and drills to alter objects and create negative spaces that depict ‘signs of life’. Her inventive artworks draw from both modern art and craft traditions to transform ordinary materials into works of art. Discover how Stillman has created her own form of alchemy - to take something common and give it nobility.

Cost (Entry):

- Adult $4
- Child $2
