Frankston Visitor Information Centre member businesses can access a wide range of support, training, funding opportunities and much more through Frankston City Council's Build Your Business Program.

Small business is the heartbeat of our city, with 98 per cent of Frankston City businesses employing less than 20 people.  One if the nine key priorities in Council’s Economic Development Strategy 2016-2022 is to provide an environment that encourages vibrant and resilient small businesses.

The Build your Business Workshop Program is a key pillar for providing support to the small business community.  For the first time, Council has partnered with co-working facility, Frankston Foundry, to deliver its most exciting and innovative workshop program yet.  The program includes a range of topics, with a distinct focus on ‘business in the digital age’ and start ups. Find the ideal workshop for your business in the online brochure below:

Business Funding Opportunities

Funding of up to $15,000 is available through the Small Business Grants program, with categories for start-up, relocation, home based graduation, green business and emerging exporter. Grants of up to $50,000 are also available to the hospitality industry through Eat Street Grants.

The grants provide a boost to businesses which demonstrate potential to create employment and build a resilient, innovative local economy. Frankston City is one of the only councils in Australia to offer such incentives to small business. To date, Council has issued $230,000 to small businesses, which have gone on to create over 200 jobs and generate over $60 million per annum into the local economy. Grants are awarded to small businesses through a competitive merit-based program held annually.
