Watch the world’s finest sculptors weave magic in the sand at Frankston Waterfront this summer. The annual Frankston Sand Sculpting exhibition is back this year promising a larger than life experience like never before. The theme for 2016 and 2017 is ’Lands of Imagination’ where childhood dreams and fantasies will come alive in an instant.
From Monday 26 December, 2016 more than 3,500 tonnes of sand will be transformed into mesmerising sand sculptures, but with a twist. Visitors of all ages are sure to be amazed as they explore fanciful lands of dinosaurs and dragons, sea creatures and spaceships, pirates and princesses - all brought to life at this wonderful sculpting exhibition in Frankston. Over the years, the Frankston Sand Sculpting exhibition has grown to include not only magnificent sculptures, but sand sculpting workshops for budding sculptors of all ages and many other sand based activities.
Join in the fun this summer at Frankston Waterfront as you walk amongst five metre towering giants, journey through Candy Land into the Gingerbread Village, turn back time and join our dinosaurs in the Prehistoric Valley, explore the Enchanted Forest and head down the rabbit hole to Wonderland. This family oriented and child friendly event is perfect for the holidays. This exhibition will showcase the talent of twenty-one of the world’s finest sculptors presenting their work of art – spectacular sculptures made from firmly packed sand, water and nothing else.
Integrated with the sand sculptures will be fun activities for children and adults alike - sand sculpting workshops, sand art and bottles, an interactive sand sculpture, sandsational play pit, face painting and more. There is also an undercover café for you to sit back and relax and enjoy light refreshments.
Loads of fun is planned this year at the Frankston Sand Sculpting exhibition. Join us on site for sculptures that will blow your mind! Come, visit Frankston for the wildest, wackiest and most whimsical exhibition yet.
