Visitor Information Centre
The Frankston Visitor Information Centre opened in January 2007 and is located at 7N Pier Promenade at the Frankston Waterfront (Melway Ref 100A A9).
There is a large car park with parking available at $3.00 per hour, with a 4 hour limit and for those only stopping for a short amount of time there are 9 x free 30 minute car parks available. Residents of the Frankston municipality that have a foreshore parking permit may park for 4 hours for free (taking into account that your permit is displayed clearly on on your windscreen of your vehicle). Please note tickets machines accept coins or credit card.
Alongside the beach is a wonderful playground with BBQ facilities. Nearby this location is further BBQ facilities close to Kananook Creek. The annual Sand Sculpting exhibition is held in the reserve next to the Visitor Information Centre. We are a leisurely 10 minute stroll from Frankston railway station. Head down Wells Street and take the lovely boardwalk south from the Lifesaving Club.
We strive for excellence and have been awarded Winner and entry into the Hall of Fame at the 2014 Australian Tourism Awards. This follows on from Winner in 2012 and 2013 at both the Victorian Tourism Awards and Australian Tourism Awards.
By taking the time to call into the Centre, visitors can maximise the time that they have to spend in the area by receiving the latest information as well as local knowledge and advice.
A great range of locally made souvenirs and local products such as jewellery, food products, books and more are available to purchase. We are open 7 days from 9am- 5pm (except Good Friday and Christmas Day).
We have an outstanding team of volunteers who dedicate about four hours a week to assist us with customer service. To find out more about volunteering please click here.
