Explore the beautiful rose gardens of Cruden Farm in an afternoon of jazz at McClelland’s Twilight Jazz Annual Fundraiser at Cruden Farm .

McClelland is Australia’s leading sculpture park with a collection of over 100 major outdoor sculptures of national and international significance displayed in a distinctive Australian bush landscape. This fundraiser is an important source of income for McClelland.

Special guest MC, Derek Guille has brought together two of Melbourne’s finest jazz groups, The Pearly Shells and Ultrafox, featuring Julie O’Hara. One of McClelland’s favourites, The Frankston High School Senior Stage Band directed by Leon de Bruin also return.

Bring a picnic basket, rug, table and chairs, enjoy and dance to the very best music in the extraordinary ambiance and surrounds of the rose gardens and picturesque lake at Cruden Farm. A selection of refreshments will also be available for purchase on the day.

Over more than 15 years, The Pearly Shells have gained a reputation as Melbourne’s premier Jazz/Swing band with a classic style and look reminiscent of the Golden Age of Ellington, Basie, Louie Jordan and Brother Ray Charles.  Famous for their Swingin’ back beat sound and Hollywood style, luminescent clam-shell stands The Pearly Shells play Jump Blues, swing Jazz, RnB, boogie woogie with the drive and enthusiasm the music demands and deserves.

Ultrafox was formed by well-known guitarist Peter Baylor and has built a growing reputation of one of the finest swing bands around. Seeking their inspiration from the famous manouche swing of The Hot club of pre-war Paris. Their music is characterized by gypsy style acoustic guitars laced with lyrical yet fiery solos. Hot swinging jazz, tender lyrical ballads, French melodies, gypsy waltzes and original compositions make up the band's extensive repertoire. Joining Peter is Julie O'Hara on vocals, Jon Hunt on clarinet, Ashley Cluss on rhythm guitar and Kain Borlaise on double bass

The Annual McClelland Twilight Jazz Fundraiser at Cruden Farm is proudly supported by Elgee Park and Karingal Hub.

Pre-purchased tickets $25 available up to 3pm on Friday 17 February.  $30 on the day.  Children under 12 are free
